Editorial Board

Editorial Board and Policies

The editorial board is responsible for criterion design, ranking decisions, and corrections. All members are disclosed below with their role in the review process.

Editorial mandate

Rankings reflect application of the five published criteria to publicly observable evidence. Editorial board members do not accept compensation from any ranked or mentioned service. Conflict-of-interest disclosures are made for any service where a board member has a personal or financial relationship.

Review process

Each service is assessed against all five criteria using publicly available evidence. Where evidence requires interpretation, the board documents the reasoning. Services may submit additional evidence for consideration; the board reviews submissions and publishes its assessment. Disagreements are resolved by majority; dissents may be noted.

Corrections policy

Factual corrections are published with a date note and the nature of the change. Rankings revised on the basis of new independently verifiable evidence are noted in the changelog. Rankings are never revised in response to commercial pressure.

AI use disclosure

Guide text is produced by editors who apply the five criteria to observable, publicly accessible evidence. AI tooling assists with cross-reference checking and consistency verification. Ranking decisions are editorial, made by the board, and not delegated to automated systems.
